Welcome to Decorative Artists in Canada. We're glad you're here for a visit. Please feel free to take a stroll through our site....there is a lot of information here as well as exceptional talent. If you like what you see, please join our family! Membership is absolutely free! You'll have the opportunity to meet artists, teachers, take a few classes, meet new friends, join us at national conventions, share a tip or technique all the while improving your skills or your desire to learn how to be a better or new decorative artist!

Our mission statement:
To inspire, encourage, delight and promote
decorative arts and artists in Canada.

Who are we? We are a group of men and women who love to paint. We paint on wood, canvas, tin, metal, a variety of surfaces. It's been said that we'll paint on anything that isn't nailed down.....but that's not really true, because some of us have been known to even paint our cars!!!! Or our running shoes! So any surface is fair game!

Why do people join DAIC?
"I have been painting for about six years and would like to be able to talk to other artists and teachers and also learn new techniques. I live in the country and there are few artists nearby... I am retired so I have all the time in the world! I am looking forward to talking to others who share the painting passion."

Most of us use acrylics, however, we are not limited to acrylics. Watercolours, coloured pencils, watercolour pencils, pen and ink, oils....and a variety of textures and mediums are becoming fast favourites to so many of us! Watch for upcoming classes on any of these mediums! A great way to improve your art knowledge is to learn a new medium!

Where do we meet? On the computer in the comfort of your own home with your favourite cup of tea or cold drink! Dress code is your choice. Our on-line discussion group is serviced through Yahoo and you'll find elsewhere, on this site, how to join us. Our main forum for communication is through email and thus we are able to secure new friendships worldwide. Even though our name suggests that we are artists in Canada, members from outside Canada are lovingly joining us. We do, however,discuss and share topics and information relative to the Canadian arts experience.
